Absolutely! Transferring your Sunrun Solar service agreement is straightforward and designed with both existing and new customers in mind. Whether you're moving or taking over a service, our process ensures a seamless transition.
If you bought your solar system up-front or with a solar loan, how you proceed is up to you. We recommend that you sell it with your home and include the cost of the solar system in your home’s price. When you have a buyer, it’s easy to do your transfer. Start the process now by logging in to the Service Transfer Portal.
Your buyer and/or their realtor can call us to discuss how the solar system will benefit them.
In the unlikely event that the buyer doesn’t want the solar service agreement, you can prepay for the remainder of your service and bundle it into the price of your home. After paying for the remainder of your service, the new buyers will receive solar power from the system until the end of the solar service agreement, at which point Sunrun can remove the solar system at no extra cost.
No! Because your Sunrun system is an independent energy source, some states require that we file a notice of the agreement on the title. Depending on the circumstance, your home may have an NOIEPC/PUC and/or a UCC on the title. The good news is that we will temporarily remove this during the transfer process, at no cost to you!
Some Agreements are subject to a Service Transfer Fee. Review your Customer Agreement for details. Fee will be waived if the online Transfer Portal is used.
