Who can get an add-on battery?
Add-on batteries are currently available for Sunrun customers in the following markets: California (PG&E, SCE, SDGE, or LADWP), Maryland, Massachusetts, Florida, Nevada, New York (PSEGLI), Texas (Oncor and Centerpoint), HI, and IL (ComEd). Availability in other locations is coming soon. Complete the form above to be contacted once add-on batteries become available in your location.
What is the process for getting an add-on battery installed?
If you are eligible for our current add-on battery solution, fill out the form above. You’ll be contacted by a Sunrun representative who will guide you through the next steps of verifying your information and completing paperwork.
What are the options for payment of an add-on battery?
You can pay for your add-on battery in cash, as a 10 year loan, or as a $0 down monthly Sunrun payment in CA. Speak with your Sunrun team to confirm payment options in additional markets.
What battery do you install?
We are currently offering Tesla Powerwall batteries, one of the most innovative and powerful batteries on the market.
How many batteries are right for me?
A Sunrun representative can help you determine how many batteries you’ll need to achieve your goals. Sunrun offers up to 3 batteries.
How does billing for an add-on battery work?
An add-on battery will not change the billing for your current solar system. You will receive a new separate bill for an add-on battery that reflects your financing selection.
*In California, outside of Virtual Power Plant (VPP) rewards opportunities that may be available, customers who went solar in 2016 or earlier on a NEM 1.0 metering plan outside of SCE’s service territory are not incentivized for evening battery usage and are thus generally recommended to keep all stored energy for outage protection.
